Process Serving
We serve your documents anywhere in Canada pursuant to the Rules of Civil Procedure, research and manage the file before attempting service, and return a commissioned affidavit the day after service is completed.
What we do
Our case managers research and manage your file before attempting service, with access to a range of search resources to locate difficult individuals. Where an address proves wrong or the party has moved, we can attempt at a new address or open a skip trace rather than simply returning the file unserved.
If you require service in the United States or internationally, we arrange it through our established network of agents.
What you get back
- Three attempts included in the base fee within our local service area.
- An affidavit of service composed, signed and commissioned the day after service is completed, with an electronic version available to you immediately.
- The original returned by the method of your choice.
- An affidavit of attempt where service cannot be effected, so you have a record for the court.
Difficult and institutional service
Where a party cannot be located, our investigators use restricted search databases and conventional investigative techniques to find a current address — see skip tracing.
Service at hospitals, correctional facilities and other institutions may involve security delays or appointment setup over several days. Fees apply for wait time, transfers, denied visits, or other circumstances preventing service.
Issuing and filing court documents
We also issue and file court documents on your behalf, anywhere in Canada. Submit your request electronically, by mail, or arrange for pickup, and let us know if it needs to be filed urgently — our case managers handle the rest.
Every filing is reviewed against the Rules of Civil Procedure for formatting and time requirements before it's submitted. Filing fees can be disbursed on your behalf if you're an established client. Once your document has been filed, you'll have an electronic copy immediately, and the original returned by your method of choice.
Filing and issuance are priced separately from service — see rates for filings and issuances.
